Having been safely deposited at the airport by Ally we set off at 6:10 for a 10 and a half hour flight to Dubai. Carrying extra in backpacks incase of lost luggage our first flight promised a relaxing start to our holiday. We changed planes, quickly, in Dubai and boarded a two story plane where within 5 minutes of sitting down we'd seen a standoff for prime seating between a man who wanted a specific seat and a lady who'd paid for the seat. The air hostess was the final adjudicator and the woman lost her original seat..but before she could sit down another woman in the same row commenced a blood nose that thirty minutes later had proved gloves were hard to get hold of, no one knew how to stop a blood nose despite recommendations from a nurse and ultimately it resulted in a total of 4 hostesses the hostess flight manager (who called everyone babe), two paramedics not welcomed by " the babe hostess ", 3 airport managers, consultation with the pilot, assistance from passenger who is a nurse and the blood stil flowed. With a high BP reading ultimately the passenger was off loaded before departure. Once luggage had been found and sorted, chairs cleaned the first misplaced lady took her reallocated seat. The 'babe hostess', unhappy her takeoff was delayed then had to contend with a 5 yr old's tantrum because use of a seat belt was not up for negotiation. We took off and arrived approx an hour late into Heathrow. Luggage was all there....yeah and we checked in to The Park Inn. Very close to airport, comfy and had a good night's sleep. Felt pleased Kate waited until the day of our arrival to deliver the new Princess! Just as I had hoped.
